Coach Iseman

Michael Iseman

Michael Iseman was named the associate head coach for the RU men's basketball program in August 2022. Iseman joins the Regents after serving as an assistant coach for multiple NCAA and NAIA men's basketball programs over the past seven years.

Iseman's most recent coaching stint came at NCAA Division II Bemidji State University. He spent four seasons as an assistant coach for the Beavers and helped lead them to a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament win in 2019, their first in six years. In addition to the team's success in postseason play, Bemidji State had their two highest single-season winning percentages in nearly a decade with Iseman on staff. He was also directly responsible for signing a pair of all-conference performers. Iseman was heavily involved in all facets of the program, including serving as the recruiting coordinator, team academic advisor, running individual workouts, scouting, fundraising, directing camps and scheduling games.

Prior to his time at Bemidji State, Iseman spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Jamestown. The Jimmies posted an overall record of 38-24, including a 20-12 mark in conference play, with Iseman on the bench. During Iseman's tenure, Jamestown captured one regular season title and earned a pair of conference tournament berths. His responsibilities while on staff included providing in-game coaching, serving as the recruiting coordinator, the strength and conditioning coach and head junior varsity coach, creating scouting reports, game plans and off-season workouts and running camps and the program's social media pages.

Iseman got his coaching start and spent his entire playing career at Central College. During his one season on staff, the Dutch went 19-10, won the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Tournament and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Iseman's playing career at Central spanned four seasons, three of which he served as a team captain. Over that span, Central posted a 64-41 overall record, captured an IIAC regular season and tournament title and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Iseman received his master's degree in Leadership in 2018 from the University of Jamestown and his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Central College in 2015.
