Rockford University

Michael Lanera is entering his third season as the head men's volleyball coach at Rockford University. Lanera brings with him a wealth of volleyball knowledge and extensive connections in the Rockford community to the program.

Lanera enters the collegiate ranks after extensive local coaching experience at both the high school and club levels. Coach Lanera spent four seasons coaching the boys varsity team at Auburn High School. During his time at the helm of the boys program, Lanera steadily improved the team and was named the NIC-10 Coach of the Year for the 2018 season. In addition to his high school coaching duties, Lanera also spent two years coaching at the club level. Lanera coached both of the boys eighteen year old teams at the Rockford Volleyball Club.

Lanera earned his bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health Fitness from Purdue University. He currently resides in Rockford, Illinois.
