AURORA, Ill. - Just two days after defeating Mt. Mary University, the Rockford University volleyball team returned to the court to play rival Aurora University. The Spartans and Regents already faced each other earlier this season in a non-conference tilt with Aurora winning that match 3-1. Friday night saw similar results as Aurora defeated Rockford 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-17).
Regents freshman Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill./Grant Community) led the Regents in nearly every major statistical category and recorded her eighth double-double of the season. Rossi had team-highs in kills (7), assists (13) and digs (11).
Heather Hyland (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) was the other Regents to record double-digits in a statistical category. Hyland had 10 digs, 5 kills and Rockford's lone solo block.
The Regents have a full week off before returning to the court on Friday, October 11th at Edgewood College. The match has a 7:00 p.m. start time.
