ROCKFORD, Ill.- For the first 90 minutes of the Rockford University home game vs. Eureka College the teams battled to a 1-1 tie. It took less than a minute in overtime to change that. Both teams played great defense and had their chances to score throughout the match, but it was Eureka who came away with the 2-1 win as they scored an early overtime goal.

Eureka started things off by scoring an unassisted goal a third of the way through the first half. It did not take long for Rockford to strike back as sophomore defender Christine Hermann (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park) scored an unassisted goal eight minutes later. It was Hermann's first goal of the season. Alyssa Nicholson (Braidwood, Ill./Reed-Custer) played another great game between the posts as she stopped eight shots, including a great game saving shot with less then three minutes to go in the second half.

The Regents next play this Saturday at 4pm at home against Lakeland College. This will be their first conference game of the year. They then go on the road for their next two games against MSOE on September 24th and against Wisconsin Lutheran on September 28th.
