CARLINVILLE, Ill. - Rockford concluded a difficult stretch of matches on Sunday that saw the Regents play three matches in just six days with the final contest coming on the road against Blackburn College. Despite being outshot 29-3, the Rockford defense held its own especially in goal. Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Bergmann (Kenosha, Wis./Westosha Central) played very well recording a season-high 13 saves for the Regents. However, Blackburn was able to find the back of the net on three occasions and win the match by a 3-0 final.
Offensively Rockford was led by junior midfielder Chrissy Hermann (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park). Hermann recorded 2 of the Regents' 3 shot attempts including Rockford's only shot on goal.
The women's soccer team will be back in action at home on Friday, September 19th against Faith Baptist. The match has a scheduled start time of 4 p.m. at Sam Greeley Field.
