ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University volleyball team returned to action Friday to take on Marian University on senior day at the Seaver Center. Unfortunately Rockford fell in straight sets to Marian.
Rockford started slow losing the first two sets 25-14 and 25-18. In the third set the Regents jumped out to a 10-5 lead before the Sabres fought back to ultimately win 25-23. Marissa Plock (German Valley, Ill.) was celebrated as the lone senior on the team tonight with 5 kills to go along with 2 service aces and 3 digs defensively. Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) had a team-high 9 kills for the Regents. Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) tallied a match-high 22 assists for the Regents.
Defensively Madison Lanquist (Rockford, Ill.) led Rockford with 14 digs.
The Rockford University volleyball team returns to action Saturday, October 17 to take on Lakeland college at the Seaver Center with a scheduled start time of 11 a.m.
