ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University men's soccer team returned to action Wednesday to take on the Dominican University Stars. Rockford and Dominican were locked in a tight match until Dominican took the lead in the second half and never looked back winning by a final of 2-0.

Dominican came into the game undefeated in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings. Rockford stopped their offensive attack in the first half as the score was tied at 0. In the second half the Regents fought to keep the Stars off the board until the 71st minute when Dominican broke the tie and never looked back. The Stars tacked on one more goal to win by the final of 2-0. Leading Rockford offensively was Erik Manriquez (Rockford, Ill.) tallying the lone shot for the team.

Defensively Rockford played an outstanding game keeping the ball out of the net shot after shot. Anthony Beck (Fishers, Ind.) recorded 7 saves on 9 attempts in goal for the Regents.

The Rockford University men's soccer team returns to action Saturday, October 10 to take on Marian University with a scheduled start time of 12 p.m.
