ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Rockford University volleyball team returned to action Saturday to take on Mount Mary University at the Seaver Center. The Regents dropped the first two sets before fighting back to win in five sets.
Rockford dropped the first two sets 26-24 and 25-19. In the third and fourth sets the Regents stormed back with 25-7 and 25-14 victories. In the deciding set the teams traded points before the Regents were able to pull away for a 15-12 victory. Leading the offensive charge for Rockford was Katie Fowler (Stillman Valley, Ill.) who recorded a double-double with 15 kills on 37 attempts to go along with 14 digs. She also tallied 7 service aces to lead the Regents. Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) once again recorded a triple-double for the Regents tallying 12 kills on 24 attempts to go along with 32 assists and 21 digs. Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) recorded 15 kills to tie for the team lead.
Playing well defensively for the Regents was Madison Lanquist (Rockford, Ill.) recording 22 digs to lead the Regents.
The Rockford University volleyball team will return to action Tuesday, September 29 to take on Illinois Tech at the Seaver Center with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
