Rockford Drops Two Matches To Aurora and North Park

AURORA, Ill.- The Rockford University volleyball team returned to action today to take on Aurora University and North Park University. The Regents were unable to capture a victory in either match falling by the finals of 3-0 and 3-1.

In the opening match Rockford was really unable to get anything going against an outstanding opponent in Aurora. The Regents fell in all three games by the finals of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-14. Rockford totaled 19 kills in the match. Sophomore Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) led the team with 9 kills on 22 attempts. 

In their second match of the day the Regents faced the Vikings and were hoping to turn around to earn a victory. Unfortunately, Rockford was unable to do so, falling in four sets, 3-1. However, the Regents did capture a victory in the second set of the match 25-13 in which they dominated the Vikings. In the set, Rockford had 9 kills and a .185 hitting percentage, their highest of the match. However, the Regents dropped the next two sets 25-13 and 25-16. 

Leading Rockford on the day was Alex Storey with 25 kills and 10 digs. McKenna Turek (Rockford, Ill.) added a team-high 25 digs. Taylor Rossi (Ingleside, Ill.) added a team-high 44 assists. 

The Rockford University volleyball team returns to action Tuesday, October 11 to take on MSOE in the Seaver Center with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
