PLYMOUTH, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team lost its final game of the calendar year on Saturday afternoon 93-48 to the Lakeland University Muskies. Rockford was never in the game as the Muskies opened the first quarter on a 22-0 run and never looked back. The Regents were unable to get back within 20 points after that as Lakeland continued to build upon its lead. The Muskies would eventually extend their lead it to a game-high 55 points early in the fourth quarter en route to the win.
Rockford's Mallorie Getzelman (Byron, Ill.) and Taylor May (East Moline, Ill.) were the only two Regents to crack double-figures on Saturday. May tallied her second double-double of the season with 12 points and a season-high 12 rebounds. Getzelman led the Regents with a team-high 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.
The RU women's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday, January 4 at home against Concordia University Chicago. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM in the Seaver Center.
