ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team (6-15, 0-7 NACC) was defeated 3-0 by Concordia University Chicago (9-14, 3-4 NACC). The Cougars came out sharp, attacking the Regents. The Regents fought, but to no avail as the Cougars downed the Regents 3-0. Concordia Chicago took set one 25-10, set two 25-14, and set three 25-10.
- The Cougars got off to a 4-0 start in the first set.
- Della Crain hammered down a kill trying to preserve the set with the Regents trailing 8-3.
- Rockford was unable to get much started as the Cougars used their momentum to go on a 11-5 point run, leading the Regents 19-8.
- Concordia Chicago road the momentum to a 25-10 win in set one.
- Rockford looked determined in the second set, keeping it close with a score tied at 5-5.
- The Regents traded points back-and-forth with the Cougars. Paige Carpenter and Della Crain increased the lead by two points making it 9-7 from two monstrous kills.
- Unfortunately, the Cougars answered with a 10-2 point run, taking the lead 18-12.
- The Cougars went on to win set two, 25-14.
- The Cougars got off to a hot start scoring the first 12 points of the third set.
- Concordia Chicago increased its lead to 20-5 in the third set.
- Rockford could not come back from the deficit, losing the third set 25-10 and the match 3-0.
The Rockford University women's volleyball team returns to the court on Wednesday, October 16 at Aurora University. The match has a scheduled start time of 7:00 PM.
