ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (4-10-1, 1-5-0 NACC) fought hard, but was defeated 4-1 by MSOE (6-5-1, 4-2-0 NACC). Rockford's defense kept them in for most of the match, only being down 1-0 going into the second half. Carlos Montes pinned the top left corner for a goal in the second half. Unfortunately, it was not enough as MSOE found life in the second half scoring three goals and running away with the 4-1 win.
- The only goal of the first half came from MSOE in the 12th minute of the match, for the Raiders to take a 1-0 lead heading into the second half.
- The Raiders took a 3-0 lead in the second half with Joey Schauer's third goal of the night, completing the hat trick in the 63rd minute of the match.
- The Regents came roaring back when Carlos Montes found the back of the net in the 73rd minute of the match to put Rockford on the board, 3-1.
- MSOE scored one more quick goal in the 74th minute of the match to win by a score of 4-1.
The RU men's soccer team returns to the field on Wednesday, October 16 at home against Aurora University. The match has a scheduled start time of 7 PM at Wedgbury Stadium.
