ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's basketball team (4-3, 3-1 NACC) outscored Aurora University Spartans (2-5, 1-2 NACC) 101-93, in Saturday nights big win. The Regents effort was outstanding overcoming a deficit in the first half to take control of the game in the second half. Rockford's offense was led by Brandon Emerick, who went off with 29 points, going 7-10 from the three-point range. Rockford's offense was no match for the Spartans, as the Regents had the upper hand going 57.1% from the field and 47.6% from beyond the arc. Vincent Eugene had another stellar night with a double-double, scoring 24 points with 10 rebounds. Jamar Rivera made an impact with the teams second double-double, scoring 15 points with 10 rebounds. Another key contributor was Nathaniel Shead, adding 18 points to Rockford's blistering offense. Despite Aurora's efforts, they were not able to keep up with the Regents, losing the battle 101-93.

• Rockford got on the board first in a big way with Nathaniel Shead draining a three-point basket to lead 3-0.
• Both teams came out scoring, keeping it a tight race with Aurora leading 10-9 and 16:42 left to play in the first half.
• The Spartans tried creating some space with a made three-pointer to go up 22-13 with 13:10 left to play in the first half.
• Rockford's Brandon Emerick answered with three consecutive three-point jumpers to trail the Spartans by three, 25-22.
• After an Aurora timeout, the Spartans got back on the board with another three-point basket. Aurora led 28-22 with 9:10 left to play in the first half. 
• Both teams traded baskets with Aurora sustaining the lead. However, Brandon Emerick came through with a clutch three-point bucket to take over the lead, 32-30 with 6:37 left to play in the first half. 
• The Spartans took back the lead, scoring on a layup with 3:02 left to play in the first half. The Regents trailed by a point, 41-40.
• The first half ended the same way it started with the Regents picking up the three-point bucket. Brandon Emerick stayed hot hitting the three-point jumper heading into the second half, leading 47-41.
• Nathaniel Shead got in on the action in the second half with a three pointer. Rockford led 52-44 with 18:09 left to play in the second half. 
• Aurora started to make a comeback, trailing the Regents 52-49 with 16:05 left to play in the game.
• Brandon Emerick cushioned the Regents lead with a big three-point pickup to lead the Spartans 57-49.
• The Regents went on an eight point run to increase their lead 66-49 with 13:23 left to play in the game. Vincent Eugene scored two layup's to go along with Jamar Rivera's layup and another Brandon Emerick three-pointer.
• Rockford kept control of the lead, leading 76-65 with 9:33 left to play.
• Vincent Eugene hit a three-point basket to keep the distance between the Spartans. Rockford had an 11-point lead, 91-80 with 3:30 left in the game.
• The Spartans made a late surge with a three-pointer to close the gap, 99-93.
• Rockford held control, taking the 101-93 victory.

• Brandon Emerick recorded a season high 29 points with 6 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds.
• Vincent Eugene recorded a double-double with a season high 24 points and 10 rebounds. He also had 9 assists and 2 steals.
• Jamar Rivera finished with a double-double scoring 15 points and ripping 10 boards. He also had 2 assists and a steal.
• Nathaniel Shead added 18 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and a rebound.

 The Rockford University men's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday, December 11 at Knox College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
