ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (3-16, 1-13 NACC) struggled tonight, losing 60-36 against the MSOE Raiders (6-12, 6-7 NACC). The Regents got off to a slow start only scoring seven points in the first quarter and MSOE scoring the first 15 points of the game. However, Rockford shot an outstanding 83.3% from the free-throw line. Unfortunately, the Regent's impressive performance at the line fell short to the Raiders offense. Emily Cox led the team with 12 points scored, while Linzy Keller added 11.

- After the 15 points, the Raiders did not score for the rest of the first quarter due to Rockford's tough defense for six minutes.
- The Regents scored seven points in the first quarter to trail the Raiders 15-7. Linzy Keller and Emily Cox teamed up on the scoring opportunities to lead the charge for the Regents.
- The Raiders started the second quarter with a 4-0 scoring run to go up 24-7.
- The second quarter was better for the Regents, coming out and scoring 10 points heading into halftime down 31-17.
- The Regents entered the second half with Emily Cox draining Rockford's first 3-pointer of the night. Rockford still trailed 34-20.
- Rockford closed out the third quarter with five points and down 51-22.
- Katlyn Fiorucci jumped on the 3-point train to start the fourth quarter, although MSOE still led 51-25.
- Sammi Russell hit a big 3-point basket to try and limit the damage, down 55-32.
- Emily Cox sank another 3-point bucket with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter to make it 55-35. But, the Regents were not able to fight off the Raiders losing 60-36.
- Emily Cox finished with a team-leading 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
- Linzy Keller tallied 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
- Jazsmin Blue had 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The RU women's basketball team returns to the court on Saturday, February 1 against Concordia University Wisconsin. Tip-off is set for 4:15 PM in the Seaver Center.
