ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (3-17, 1-14 NACC) struggled to get its offense started against Concordia University Wisconsin (12-8, 11-4 NACC). The Regents fought hard but were unfortunately unable to keep the Falcons within reach. However, Rockford was outstanding at the free-throw line shooting 90%. The Regents had a hard time controlling the game as the Falcons tallied 16 3-pointers. Emily Cox led the Regents with 14 points, while Katlyn Fiorucci had 10 points on the night.
- The Falcons opened up the game scoring the first five points.
- Emily Cox started the offense for Rockford hitting a 3-point basket to make it 5-3 with 8:04 left in the first quarter.
- Concordia Wisconsin took advantage of scoring opportunities closing out the first quarter up 28-11.
- The Falcons started the second quarter with a 5-1 scoring run making it 39-13 with 5:29 left in the second quarter.
- Rockford played hard but could not keep up with the Falcons offense pulling away. The Regent's Emily Cox drained a 3-point jumper to give Rockford momentum going into halftime. Rockford was down 48-20 going into halftime.
- The Regents traded baskets with the Falcons to start the third quarter down 55-23.
- Courtney Sutherland sank a deep 3-pointer with 7:12 left to play in the third quarter, the Regents were down 55-26.
- Concordia Wisconsin went on an 11-2 scoring run to finish the third quarter up 80-30.
- Emily Cox carried the Regents in the fourth quarter scoring seven points. Unfortunately, Rockford could not stop the damage, losing 102-39.
- Emily Cox finished with a team-high 14 points while also recording 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.
- Katlyn Fiorucci tallied 10 points with 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
- Linzy Keller had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
The RU women's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday, February 5 against Marian University. Tip-off is set for 7 PM in the Seaver Center.
