LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Regents women's soccer team (3-11-0, 2-9-0 NACC) struggled and came up short against Aurora University (3-8-3, 4-5-2 NACC) in a NACC battle Wednesday night. Aurora started out in front and didn't look back, going up 1-0 at the half and scoring again to start the second. Rockford scored in the 64th minute thanks to
Mia Ostler, but the Spartans scored one more towards the end to make it a 3-1 final score.
- It was a short ten minutes before Aurora hit the net on a great shot to the top left to open the scoring for the Spartans.
- Aurora would be caught regularly offside as the defense tried to hold them off, including saves by Elizabeth Elison to help the Regents.
- The start of the second half was all Aurora, firing shots around the net trying to increase the lead. It paid off when the Spartans passed the ball into the six-yard box and put the ball away to make it 2-0.
- Mia Ostler would not let the game get away without a fight after a deflection fell to her feet. She scored, keeping the Regents in the game 2-1.
- The Spartans got a very important goal later in the 85th minute when Aurora crossed tha ball into the box and scored, slipping the ball into the lower right of the net. They put themselves up by two goals to secure the victory 3-1.
- Mia Ostler led the team in shots with 3. She also had the team-high in shots on goal with 2. One of those shots ended up as the only goal for the Regents as well.
- Elizabeth Elison had 9 saves to help keep the Regents in the game.

The RU women's soccer team will head to the Milwaukee area for a game against Wisconsin Lutheran. The game is scheduled for October 23rd at 1pm.
