LOVES PARK, Ill. - The RU men's soccer team (5-6-0. 3-3-0 NACC) fell just short 2-1 in overtime against Concordia Chicago (4-4-2, 2-2-2 NACC) on Wednesday night. The first half was a balanced match with the score at 0-0. After the first half, Rockford would score the first goal when
Lorenzo Amador placed a free kick to
Miguel Gallardo for a shot in the 73rd minute. It wasn't long before the Cougars responded in the 87th minute to tie the game and send it to overtime. The first overtime goal was a CUC Cougars score immediately in the 91st minute on a cross into the box that gave Concordia Chicago the win.

- The only highlights of the first half were the two saves by Jonathan Eduardo Rosales, keeping the Regent's in the game.
- The first goal was a free kick by Lorenzo Amador to Miguel Gallardo in the 73rd minute. The free kick pass inside the 6-yard box gave Gallardo an opportunity and he capitalized on the shot, giving Rockford a 1-0 lead.
- Concordia Chicago later lead a pass to one of their own offensive players for a goal. The shot was through the defense and put in from a yard out. With that goal, CUC tied the game with three minutes to go.
- Rockford would only get one more shot, landing off target, before the 1-1 score had to be decided in an overtime period.
- In overtime, Rockford was ready for a hard battle. However, an early push by the CUC offense created a great chance that ended in a Concordia Chicago goal. The Cougar's score in overtime decided the game and the CUC Cougars would win 2-1.

The RU men's soccer team will travel to Lakeland University on October 9th. Kickoff for the NACC game is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
