RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Regents women's soccer team (2-8-0, 1-6-0 NACC) fell 2-1 in a hard-fought match Wednesday afternoon to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars (2-7-2, 2-3-2 NACC). Rockford took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, but unfortunately, surrendered a pair of second half goals. The main difference in the game was the Cougars ability to continually put pressure on the Regent defense. Concordia Chicago outshot the Regents 26-8 in the match, including a 14-1 advantage in the second half.
- The Regents and Cougars combined for a total of 14 shots, including four shots on goal, in the first 30 minutes of the match. Fortunately, Rockford University goalie Morgan Dolphin came up with a trio of nice saves to keep the Cougars off the board.
- Rockford was then able to break the scoreless tie in the 34th minute of the match. Freshman Bianca Tovar made an excellent pass to Rianna Tovar, who beat the Cougar keeper, to give the Regents a 1-0 lead heading into the half.
- However, CUC would tie the match just over three minutes into the second half when Medelin Loza scored her second goal of the season.
- The score remained tied until the 62:53 mark of the match. This time it was CUC's Allie Brown who found the back of the net to give the Cougars a 2-1 advantage.
- The Regents had one additional shot attempt the remainder of the game, but unfortunately, Samara Tanchuck missed high, as CUC held on for a 2-1 win.
- Rianna Tovar scored her first goal of the season.
- Samara Tanchuck finished with a team-high 3 shots and 1 shot on goal.
- Moran Dolphin tallied a match-high 10 saves.

The RU women's soccer team hits the road on Saturday, October 9 to face the Lakeland University Muskies. The match has a scheduled start time of 11 AM.
