PLYMOUTH, Wis. - Rockford's
Rianna Tovar headed in the game-winning goal off a
Samara Tanchuck corner kick, to lift the Regents (3-8, 2-7 NACC) to a thrilling 1-0 overtime win against the Lakeland University Muskies (1-10, 1-7 NACC). The win gave the Regents their first ever victory over the Muskies in NACC play and their second conference win of the season. Rockford's two conference wins is tied for the most NACC victories in a single season, since the Regents joined the NACC in 2006.
- Rockford University goalkeeper Morgan Dolphin was outstanding in goal on Saturday.
- The Regents had a limited number of scoring opportunities in the match and needed Dolphin and the rest of the defense to keep the Muskies off the board. Dolphin stopped all three shots she faced in the first half, to keep the match scoreless at halftime.
- Rockford had its first scoring chance in the 48th minute of the match. Unfortunately, Autumn Huntington's shot was stopped by the Lakeland goalie, to keep it a 0-0 game.
- Lakeland had a trio of good looks at the net over the remainder of the half, but the Muskies were denied all three times.
- The first shot came at the 66:44 mark, when the Regents defense was credited with a team save.
- The other two came in the 71st and 86th minutes. Fortunately, RU keeper Morgan Dolphin was there to stop both and send the match into overtime.
- Rockford wasted little time moving the ball near the Lakeland goal and was awarded a corner kick at the 94:32 mark.
- Samara Tanchuck boomed the ball into the box and Rianna Tovar jumped up and headed the ball into the corner of the net, to give Rockford an incredible 1-0 overtime victory.

The RU women's soccer team is on the road again next Wednesday, October 13 at Benedictine University at 7 PM.
