PLYMOUTH, Wis. - The Regents women's volleyball team (2-17, 0-7 NACC) dropped a pair of matches in straight sets on the road Saturday afternoon to the Lakeland University Muskies (3-12, 2-4 NACC) and the Carroll University Pioneers (5-14). Rockford's opening match against Lakeland was close throughout all three sets. The Regents led at numerous points during the match, but unfortunately, it was the Muskies who were able to close out each set strong and secure the 25-23, 25-17, 25-21 win. The Regents then dropped their second match of the day 25-7, 25-16, 25-14 to Carroll.

Lakeland 3 Rockford 0
- The Regents played extremely well and led for a good portion of the first set.
- Rockford scored nine of the first 13 points to jump out to a quick 9-4 lead. Della Crain led the offensive attack with four kills, while Alexxana Burton, Nicole Eggers and Melody Moreno each tallied a kill over that span.
- The Regents' lead would hover around four points until late in the first set. With Rockford still out in front 18-14, the Muskies scored the next four points to tie the match for the first time since it was 1-1.
- Lakeland then scored four of the next five points to take its first lead of day, at 22-19.
- With Lakeland now holding a 24-21 lead, Della Crain smashed home back-to-back kills to pull the Regents back within one at 24-23.
- Unfortunately, the Muskies scored the next point to win the set 25-23 and take a 1-0 lead.
- The second set got off to a rough start with Lakeland grabbing an early 7-1 advantage.
- However, Rockford scored the next four points to pull back within two at 7-5. The Regents took advantage of a trio of Muskie errors and a Della Crain kill to help close the gap.
- Unfortunately, the Muskies were able to slowly build their lead up to as many as seven points at 15-8.
- Rockford was never able to get any closer than four the remainder of the way and lost the second set 25-17.
- The third set also got off to a difficult start, as Lakeland opened on an 11-2 run.
- However, the Regents did not quit and responded with an 8-2 run of their own, to cut the Muskie lead to just 13-10. Melody Moreno and Nicole Eggers each tallied a pair of kills during the Regent run.
- The back and forth nature of the set continued, as Lakeland scored the next four points to push its lead back to seven at 17-10.
- Unfortunately, Rockford couldn't get any closer than three and dropped the third set 25-21 and match 3-0.
Carroll 3 Rockford 0
- Rockford stumbled out of the gates in the first set against the Pioneers. Carroll began the match with a 14-1 run to seize control of the set.
- The Pioneers never led by less than 11 the rest of the way and took the first set 25-7.
- The Regents were able to regroup and put together a strong start in the second set. Melody Moreno recorded a pair of kills and Alexis Brashaw had one kill, to help give Rockford an early 7-4 lead.
- However, Carroll promptly used an 8-2 run of its own, to regain the lead at 12-9.
- Rockford was able to get back within one at 12-11, before Carroll scored eight of the next nine points to take a 20-12 advantage.
- The Regents cut the lead back down to five at one point, but unfortunately, Carroll closed the set with a 5-1 run, to secure the 25-16 win.
- The third set went back and forth early on with Rockford clinging to a slim 7-6 advantage.
- Carroll then used a 9-2 run to take the largest lead for either team in the set thus far, at 15-9.
- Rockford was able to get back within four a couple of times, but unfortunately, it was not enough, as Carroll won the third set 25-14 and the match 3-0.

The RU women's volleyball team returns to the court on Friday, October 15 against Wisconsin Lutheran College. The match has a scheduled start time of 7 PM in the Seaver Center.
