DE PERE, Wis. - The Rockford University men's basketball team (7-2, 2-1 NACC) earned a huge 91-83 road victory on Saturday against the St. Norbert College Green Knights (6-2, 3-1 NACC). The win not only knocked the Green Knights from the NACC unbeaten ranks, but it also gave Rockford its first win over St. Norbert since the Regents joined the NACC in 2006. It was truly a dominating performance, as Rockford trailed for just 41 seconds the entire game. The Regents shot a blistering 54.5% from the floor, including 45.5% from three-point range and knocked down season-high 15 three-pointers. Despite taking and making a large amount of perimeter shots, Rockford was still able to outrebound the Green Knights 43-39. The Regents had four players score in double-digits, led by 26 points from senior
Brandon Emerick.
- After St. Norbert scored on the opening possession of the game, Rockford scored the next 16 points, to leap out in front 16-2. Five different Regents scored over that span, led by six points from Jaden Bell.
- The Green Knights were eventually able to whittle down the Regent lead to just six points with 3:28 remaining in the first half.
- Fortunately, Rockford closed the half on a 12-4 run, to take a 47-33 lead into the break. Brandon Emerick scored the first eight points, including back-to-back triples to jump-start the run. TJ Lacey and Charles Burnell then each hit jumpers, with the latter coming in the closing seconds, to give Rockford a 14-point lead.
- Rockford then picked up in the second half right where it left off at the end of the first. The Regents connected on five straight shots, including four triples, to extend their lead to a game-high 23 points, at 61-38. Brandon Emerick hit back-to-back threes get things started, and then Zac Centers scored the next eight points, bookended by a pair of triples.
- The Regents' lead hovered around 19 points, until midway through the half when St. Norbert scored 11 straight, to make it a 72-64 game.
- The two schools then traded 7-0 runs, as Rockford was still holding an eight-point lead with 4:40 left in regulation.
- Jaden Bell and Micah Swanson would promptly combine to score eight of the next ten points to push Rockford's advantage back into double-figures, at 87-73.
- The Green Knights were unable to get any closer than eight points the remainder of the way, as Rockford cruised to an impressive 91-83 road win.
- Brandon Emerick finished with a team-high 26 points and drained a season-high 7 three-pointers. Emerick rounded out his totals with a season-high 7 assists. He is also now within striking distance of two RU career records. He is only 27 three-point attempts and 37 made three-pointers away from tying those respective RU career records.
- Micah Swanson tallied his second straight double-double and his third overall this year. Swanson finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block.
- Jaden Bell recorded his second double-double of the season. Bell had 13 points, a season-high 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.
- Zac Centers got his first start of the season and hit double-figures for the third time in the last five games. Centers tallied 15 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
- TJ Lacey narrowly missed his first double-double as a Regent. Lacey finished with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

The RU men's basketball team is back on the road next Wednesday, December 15 at Edgewood College. Tip-off is set for 7 PM.
