NORMAL, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team (2-2) picked up another split on Saturday with a 12-1 win over Eureka College (1-7) in the opener and then falling 5-2 in 14 innings in the nightcap to Elmhurst College (3-2). The Regents cranked out 15 hits and 12 runs over 8 innings to pick up their second win in as many days against the Red Devils. The second game was more of a classic pitcher's duel, as the Regents and Bluejays combined to score just 2 runs through 10 innings and 4 runs through 13 innings. Unfortunately, it was the Bluejays that came up with the clutch hits in the fourteenth to pick up their second win over Rockford in two days.
Rockford 12 Eureka 1 (8 Innings)

- Rockford would tack on two additional runs later in the frame off a 2-run single from Hunter Fiorito.
- Four runs was more than enough run support for starting pitcher Logan Streit. Streit allowed just 2 hits and 1 unearned run over his 6 innings of work and retired 10 of the final 12 batters he faced.
- The Regents would add one more run in the fifth off a Tyler Peake RBI bunt single to extend their lead to 5-1.
- Rockford then blew the game wide open with a 5-run seventh. The Regents had just 4 hits in the inning but also took advantage of two walks and two hit batsmen.

Elmhurst 5 Rockford 2 (14 Innings)
- Game two was the definition of pitcher's duel as Rockford and Elmhurst combined to score in just 4 of the 14 innings.
- Rockford broke the scoreless tie with a single run in the bottom of the third inning. TJ Jones led off the inning with a single and three batters later, Jordin Lee doubled down the left field line to give his team a 1-0 lead.
- One run seemed as though it might be enough since the RU pitching staff was nearly lights out throughout the entire game.
- Starter Adrian Rapier tossed five shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 3.
- Christian Dahlstrom then entered the game and threw the next 8 innings, but did allow 2 unearned runs.

- The Bluejays took advantage of a Rockford error in the top half of the frame to score their second unearned run of the game.
- The Regents would also score an unearned run in the inning. Elmhurst committed an error early in the frame and Christian Garcia made them pay with an RBI single.
- Neither team was able to score in the 12th but Rockford did have another chance to win the game in the 13th.
