ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team (0-8, 0-6 NACC) hosted the Aurora University Spartans (5-0, 4-0 NACC) Sunday afternoon. The Spartans kept their unblemished NACC record rolling as they took down the Regents in three straight sets in both matches with first match scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-12, and second match scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-14.
Match 1: 25-14, 25-18, 25-12
- The Regents fell behind 5-0 to open the first set against the Spartans.
- The Spartans increased their lead to 11-2 with a 5-0 run.
- Rockford tried to generate some offensive momentum with a 4-0 run towards the end of the set highlighted by Taylor Sagen's kill but was not able to come back, falling 25-14 in the first set.
- The Regents did a much better job competing with the Spartans in the second set, clinging to a one-point deficit with Jacey Wilson's kill to make it 5-4.
- Rockford was able to take a 9-8 lead with a 5-1 scoring run led by kills from Nicole Eggers, Jacey Wilson and Della Crain.
- The Spartans answered with a 5-1 scoring run of its own to take a 12-9 lead.
- However, Rockford showed a lot of fight, evening the set three different times at 13-13, 14-14 and 15-15 with the help of kills from Jaszmin Minneyfield and Alyssa Ashford. But, Aurora quickly regrouped taking the second set 25-18.
- Aurora dominated in the third set jumping out to a quick 17-4 lead.
- Rockford tried to recover but the Spartans were too much, dropping the third set 25-12 and the match 3-0.
Match 2: 25-17, 25-15, 25-14
- The first set started with both teams locked at 5-5. The Regents started with a perfect five kills, the first four coming from Della Crain, while Alyssa Ashford finished it off to even up the set.
- The Spartans made it a 13-7 set with an 8-2 scoring run.
- Aurora kept the pressure on the Regents, running up the score 20-9.
- Rockford scored five straight points with kills from Jacey Wilson and Della Crain to try and get back in the set, but Aurora went on to win the first set 25-17.
- Aurora jumped out to an 8-4 lead in the second set.
- Rockford attempted to close the gap with kills coming from Jaszmin Minneyfield, Jacey Wilson and Nicole Eggers to make it 11-8.
- However, three points are the closest the Regents would come within the Spartans as Rockford dropped set two, 25-15.
- The Regents took an early 4-2 lead in the third set with kills from Charisma Palmer and Della Crain.
- The Spartans came right back with an 11-2 run taking a 13-6 lead.
- The Regents scored eight more times in the third set with kills from Brynn Atwell, Jaszmin Minneyfield and Della Crain, but it was not enough to hold off the Spartans. Rockford fell in the third set 25-14 and lost the match 3-0.

- Della Crain matched her season-high with 13 kills. Crain also added 4 digs, 2 aces and an assist.
- Jacey Wilson also tied her season-high with 6 kills. Wilson also had 4 digs.
- Alyssa Ashford recorded 3 kills and a block.
The Regents return to the court next Sunday, March 28 to face the Benedictine University Eagles. First serve is set for 12:00 PM at Benedictine University.
