LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (0-2-2, 0-2-2 NACC) tied the Benedictine University Eagles (1-2-1, 1-2-1 NACC) 1-1 Wednesday night in double overtime. The eagles scored early on in the first half but the Regents played tough not giving in. Rockford showed a lot of effort even until the last seconds of regulation when Baruani Kamangila scored a goal forcing the match to go to overtime.
- The Eagles scored early on with the goal coming in the 6th minute of the match to take an early lead.
- Rockford finally found the back of the net in the second half for its first goal of the season. In the last second of the match down 1-0 Baruani Kamangila scored for the Regents sending the match into overtime.
- The Eagles out-shot the Regents 4-1 in double overtime but with no shots finding the back of the net, the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
- Maverick Attwood played well in goal for the Regents, playing all 110 minutes in goal with four saves.
The Rockford University men's soccer team takes on Dominican University on Wednesday, April 7 at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
