LISLE, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (0-4-2, 0-4-2 NACC) fell 2-0 on the road Sunday afternoon to the Benedictine University Eagles (3-2-1, 3-2-1 NACC). The Eagles struck for a pair of goals in the first half, and Rockford was never able to recover. Benedictine outshot Rockford 17-12, including a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.
- The first half belonged to Benedicitne University. The Eagles outshot the Regents 10-4, which included a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal.
- Benedictine was able to break the scoreless tie in the 21st minute, when Alex Pillath found the back of the net off an assist from Lukasz Sulka.
- Hayden Von Son then made it a 2-0 Eagle lead in the 31st minute, after he scored his third goal of the season.
- The Eagles would then take that 2-0 lead into the half.
- Rockford played much better in the second half and actually outshot Benedictine 8-7.
- Simeon Adesina had a pair of shots on goal in the 52nd and the 59th minutes, but unfortunately, both were saved by the Benedictine keeper.
- Rockford's final shot on goal of the half came in the 87th minute by Baruani Kamangila, but Dominic Wistocki made his third save of the half, to seal the 2-0 win.
The Regents continue their three-match road trip on Wednesday, April 14 at Aurora University. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
