LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team (8-12, 0-2 NACC) was swept by the #8 Aurora University Spartans (18-2, 2-0 NACC) Tuesday afternoon. The Regents struggled to get much going in the second game against the eighth-ranked team in the country, losing 17-1 in seven innings. Rockford played better in the second game, although still falling 8-2 to the Spartans.
Game 1: #8 Aurora 17 Rockford 1 (7 innings)
- Aurora got things started in the first inning, scoring two runs from a single to center field.
 
- Rockford answered in the bottom of the first when TJ Jones smacked a double to left field driving in Christian Garcia.
 
- Both teams were held without runs in the second inning, but the Spartans struck again in the third inning with two runs from a double and a fielder's choice.
 
- Aurora increased its lead to 6-1 in the top of the fourth tacking on another two runs.
 
- The Spartans took a commanding 16-1 lead with a 10 run sixth inning.
 
- Aurora held Rockford to only one run in the first inning and scored one more run in the seventh to take game one, 17-1.
 
Game 2: #8 Aurora 8 Rockford 2
- The Spartans started the game with a lead-off homer in the first inning to take a quick 1-0 lead.
 
- Aurora tacked on three runs in the second inning with two runs scoring on an error and a homer to left field.
 
- Rockford held Aurora for a scoreless third and fourth inning with stellar pitching and defense. 
 
- The Spartans continued to add in the fifth inning with a double to left field scoring two runs to lead 6-0.
 
- The Regents scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth when Christopher Connolly scored from a throwing error by the pitcher and Bradey Franks scored on a fielder's choice.
 
- Aurora added two runs in the seventh inning from a single to left field and a double down the left-field line.
 
- Christian Dahlstrom pitched the last two innings for the Regents giving up no runs on two hits.
 
- Unfortunately, the Regents dropped game two 8-2.
