LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Regents women's soccer team (2-2, 1-0 NACC) was able to put up 8 goals at home against the Alverno College Inferno (2-1, 0-1 NACC) Wednesday night. It was a relatively balanced first 20 minutes with neither team able to break the scoreless tie. However, from that moment on, Rockford took control of the match. The Regents scored four goals the remainder of the first half and tacked on four more in the second half to blow the match wide open. The Rockford defense did its part as well, as the Regents were completely untouched in the first half and allowed just one total shot the entire game.
- The 24th minute saw the first goal of the game on a good cross by Joleen Alvarado found the foot of Samara Tanchuck for her first goal of the night, making it 1-0 Regents.
- It would only be 4 minutes later when Peyton Scott would sneak a dribbler by the Inferno defense and goalkeeper to the bottom right, making it 2-0.
- Mia Ostler in the 37th minute would take one herself for a shot that would beat the goalkeeper and make it a 3-0 match before halftime.
- Coming back from the halftime break, it would take 26 seconds before the Regents would score again, Samara Tanchuck finding a ball off a defender and putting it away, getting her second goal of the night, 4-0 Regents.
- 5 minutes later in the 50th, Samara Tanchuck would complete the hat-trick, finding her third goal of the night off a pass by Mia Ostler. 5-0 Regents lead.
- 25 seconds later, instead of the assist, Mia Ostler would record her second goal of the night. 6-0 Regents.
- Ostler would complete her hat-trick run as well on the next goal at the 68th minute, a shot from outside the box that bent into the net, goalkeeper unable to read it, putting them up 7-0 in the late stages.
- There would be a substitution that would bring in Kaeleigh Taylor, who would make her presence felt by scoring the final Regents goal 9 minutes later in the 81st off a great volley inside the box.
- The Regents would hold the ball for a majority of the rest of the game, running out time, winning 8-0.

The RU women's soccer team will continue NACC play on Saturday, September 18 against Marian University. The match has a scheduled start time of 12 PM at Wedgbury Stadium.
