LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team (1-0-0) took down the Ripon College Red Hawks (0-2-0) in their first game of the 2021 season. It was all Regents as they dominated the shot category by a score of 25 shots to 4. With a 9 shot first half, the Regents only found the net once. Then found the net twice more in the second half on 16 total shots, leading them to a comfortable 3-0 victory.

- Rockford came out aggressive offensively and put immediate pressure on the Ripon defense, only taking 13 minutes to find the back of the net on a shot by Baruani Kamangila that put the Regents up early 1-0.
- There would be 2 more shots, one on target by Marcos Morales Hernandez, that was saved by goalkeeper Kalan Narance. He would go on to have 6 saves on the night.
- Maverick Attwood would go on to record 2 spectacular saves, the first coming in the 34th minute.
- The Regents would go on to tally 5 more shots before the halftime horn sounded, leaving the score at 1-0.
- It would take less than a minute into the second half when Baruani Kamangila would find his brace, scoring a second time from an assist from Miguel Gallardo.
- The Regents would continue the pressure, with 5 more shots in 5 minutes coming after the first goal of the second half.
- Rockford continued to pound the net until an opening in the Rockford defense gave Ripon an opportunity, the shot was on target and Maverick Attwood would make a diving save to keep the Ripon Red Hawks off the scoreboard for good.
- One final push in the 89th minute proved fruitful for the Regents as Mauricio Flores would sneak a ball past the goalkeeper to grab himself a goal. Miguel Gallardo would be the man to credit with his second assist of the night.
