RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The RU men's soccer team (4-5-0, 2-2-0 NACC) dropped its second straight road match 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon to the Dominican University Stars (8-1-0, 5-0-0 NACC). The Stars were in control for the entire match and showed why they are consistently at the top of the NACC standings. Dominican outshot Rockford 20-1, including a 7-1 edge in shots on goal. The Stars scored their first goal in the 13th minute and added a pair of second half goals en route to a 3-0 win.
- Dominican's Boston Garrett scored the first goal of the match in the 13th minute off an assist from Zachary Gamster.
- The Stars had three more shots on goal in the first half, but RU goalkeeper Maverick Attwood denied all three attempts, to keep it a 1-0 game entering the half.
- Dominican would extend its lead to 2-0 at the 59:42 mark. Giovannie Ortiz found the back of the net for his second goal of the season and was assisted by Vicente Castro.
- The Stars tacked on one more goal off a Vicente Castro penalty kick in the 82nd minute, to seal the 3-0 win.

The RU men's soccer team returns home on Saturday, October 2 to face Concordia University Wisconsin. The match has a scheduled start time of 12:30 PM at Wedgbury Stadium.
