MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (8-8, 4-6 NACC) earned a huge 57-48 road win on Saturday afternoon over the MSOE Raiders (6-8, 4-4 NACC). Rockford trailed by as many as 12 in the first half and entered the break facing a ten-point deficit, before mounting a ferocious second half comeback. The Regents outscored the Raiders 37-18 over the final 20 minutes, including using a 9-0 run late in the third quarter, to retake the lead for the first time since the opening moments of the game. Rockford would eventually take control of the game late, with a solid performance at the free throw line and secure its first win over MSOE since January 28, 2017. One of the key reasons for the Regents' victory was Rockford's ability to get to and convert at the free throw line. Rockford made more free throws (16) than MSOE even attempted in the game (7). The other deciding factor was the dominating performance from
Anaya Davis. Davis poured in a career-high 30 points, was a perfect 10-for-10 at the free throw line, and had 12 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the season.
- After falling behind 4-0 to start the game, the Regents scored seven straight points to take a 7-4 lead. Three different Regents scored over that span, led by three from Natalie Posadas and two each from Anaya Davis and Roshanda Stevens.Â
- With the game now tied at 9-9 and 4:19 left in the period, the Raiders closed the quarter on a 9-0 run to take an 18-9 lead heading into the second.Â
- MSOE would extend its advantage to as many as twelve points late in the quarter, before Naynay Clark connected on a layup and sent the game into the half with MSOE holding a 30-20 lead.
- Rockford then came roaring out of the gates with an 8-2 run to begin the second half and cut the Raider lead down to just four. Anaya Davis scored six of the eight points, with Naynay Clark capping off the run with a layup at the 7:14 mark.Â
- MSOE was able to push its lead back up to eight midway through the period, prior to Rockford finally being able to retake the lead.
- The Regents scored nine straight points over a 4:26 span, to jump back in front 37-36 with just over a minute left in the third quarter. It was again a combination of three different Regents who scored during the run, this time led by four from Anaya Davis, three from Naynay Clark and two from Natalie Posadas.Â
- However, it was the Raiders who hit a triple in the closing seconds and took a 39-37 lead heading into the fourth.Â
- With MSOE now leading by four, Rockford used a 7-0 run early in the fourth quarter to retake the lead for good. Audrina Terhune got things started with three straight points, followed by a Da Sani Hannah bucket and a pair of made free throws from Anaya Davis.Â
- The game would go back and forth over the next few minutes, but each time MSOE was able to make it a one-possession game, the Regents answered right back with a bucket of their own.Â
- With Rockford still holding a two-point lead and less than two minutes remaining, the Regents went a perfect 2-for-2 from the floor and 4-of-5 at the free throw line over the final 1:51 to outscore the Raiders 8-1 and secure the 57-48 win.Â
- Anaya Davis had another incredible performance on Saturday. Davis poured in a career-high 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting and a perfect 10-for-10 performance at the free throw line. She also added 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist and 1 steal for her NCAA Division III-leading 13th double-double of the season. Davis also leads the NACC in scoring (17.4 ppg), rebounding (13.4 rpg) and is third in steals (2.5 spg).Â
- Naynay Clark finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.Â
- Roshanda Stevens added 8 rebounds, 3 points, 3 assists and 2 steals.Â
- Natalie Posadas had 7 points, a career-high 8 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.Â

The RU women's basketball team returns to the court on Tuesday, January 25 at home against Concordia University Chicago. Tip-off is set for 7 PM at the Seaver Center.Â
