ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (9-8, 5-6 NACC) shot 42.1 percent from the field and managed a season-high 6 blocks against Concordia Chicago (6-9, 5-5 NACC) in the Regents fifth conference win of the season, 66-50. Concordia Chicago never had the chance to lead in what was a dominating performance for the Regents, holding Concordia Chicago to only 23 percent shooting and winning the rebound category 53-36.
Naynay Clark,
Audrina Terhune, and
Anaya Davis were the three stand-outs for the Regents. Clark led in scoring with 18 points and Terhune tallied 15 points of her own, but Davis had another productive night. She recorded 15 points and 14 rebounds to add another double-double to her season total, making it her 14th on the year.
- Rockford started out the game with a layup by Roshanda Stevens and a pair of baskets by Naynay Clark to take a 6-0 lead.
- CUC put together an 8-2 run in response that led to the only tie of the game at 8-8.
- The Regents took back the lead shortly after and went on a 9-2 run to conclude the quarter and hold the lead 17-10. Anaya Davis led the scoring with 5 points during the run.
- After Rockford made the first basket of the second quarter, but the Cougars managed to pull within 3 points on an 8-2 run to make the score 21-18.
- The Regents proceeded to take over the game for the remainder of the quarter, mounting a 14-3 run with Naynay Clark scoring 8 points and Kiara Stevens scoring 6 off the bench. RU led by 14 points heading into halftime, the score at 35-21.
- Coming out of the break, both sides traded points back and forth in the third quarter. Audrina Terhune scored 10 of the team's 15 points in the quarter, helping them to a 50-33 lead.
- The Cougars battled to try and overcome the large lead held by Rockford but instead traded points with the Regents for most of the final quarter, going on a 12-3 run in Concordia Chicago's favor. Anaya Davis and Naynay Clark kept up the scoring for RU during the run, scoring 5 and 4 points, respectively.
- The final two minutes of play allowed Rockford to build the lead back up to 20 points due to a 7-1 run to end the game. Audrina Terhune hit the final free throw of the game and the Regents ran out the clock shortly after to win the game 66-50.
- Anaya Davis recorded her 14th double-double of the season with 15 points and 14 rebounds. She also managed to block 2 shots and grab 5 steals.
- Naynay Clark led in scoring with 18 points while also recording 2 rebounds and a team high 4 assists.
- Audrina Terhune scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, she also had 2 assists, a block and a steal.
- Roshanda Stevens grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded 2 blocks and a steal.

The RU women's basketball team stays at home and will face the nationally-ranked Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, January 29th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
