ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team (9-9, 5-7 NACC) were outmatched against a tough Wisconsin Lutheran (15-0, 11-0 NACC) team who has yet to lose a game this season in a tough 70-39 loss. It was a close match for the first couple of minutes until the Warriors began pulling away. Wisconsin Lutheran shot 40.6 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from the three point line which the Regents couldn't keep up with. The Warriors led for nearly the entire game and won in convincing fashion.
Anaya Davis was a bright spot for the Regents in the loss, she scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to record her 15th double-double of the season.
- Da Sani Hannah and Naynay Clark recorded the first two baskets of the game for the Regents, where they took their first and only lead of the game at 4-3.
- Wisconsin Lutheran took the lead back with a three-pointer shortly after as part of an 8-0 run to make the score 11-4.
- The Warriors built more of a lead before the end of the quarter on an 8-4 run to take a 19-8 lead into the second quarter. Anaya Davis had both baskets for the Regents.
- The second quarter started off with a 9-2 run in favor of WLC. Anaya Davis scored the only points in the run thanks to a couple of free throws.
- Wisconsin Lutheran continued to pour it on with a follow-up 12-4 run in the team's favor. Rockford responded with a three-pointer from Audrina Terhune, but WLC scored 5 more points to go into the break with a 37-15 lead.
- WLC started the second half on a 7-0 run until Anaya Davis recorded the Regents first basket at the six-minute mark.
- Rockford was able to make up a little ground on an 8-5 run through the middle of the third to make the score 49-25.
- The Warriors scored the last four points in the third and went into the fourth quarter with a very strong lead.
- After Makayla Ashford made the opening basket in the fourth, WLC scored the next seven points with ease.
- The Regents were able to battle Wisconsin Lutheran for the remainder of the game, both sides not giving any ground. The lead was too much to overcome however, and WLC extended their winning streak in a final score of 70-39.
- Anaya Davis got her 15th double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She also had a block.
- Audrina Terhune had 5 points with 3 steals, 2 assists, and a block for the Regents.
- Makayla Ashford scored her season-high in points with 8 and grabbed 4 rebounds.

The RU women's basketball team goes on the road to visit Dominican for a game on February 1st. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
