DE PERE, Wis. - The Rockford University women's soccer team fell 3-1 on the road Sunday afternoon to the St. Norbert College Green Knights. St. Norbert scored a trio of first half goals, two within 30 seconds of each other, to build an almost insurmountable lead. Rockford was however able to score a goal early in the second half despite having limited opportunities.
Rianna Tovar scored an unassisted breakaway goal in the 54th minute to pull the Regents within two. Unfortunately, Rockford could not get any closer the rest of the match.
- St. Norbert's Haley Leadingham broke the scoreless tie in 20th minute off an unassisted breakaway goal.
- Abby Thompson then scored a pair of goals within 30 seconds of each other to put the Green Knights up 3-0 heading into the half.
- Rockford's Rianna Tovar came up with the biggest play of the second half, by scoring on an unassisted breakaway of her own to make it a 3-1 game.
- Unfortunately, the St. Norbert defense held Rockford without a shot the rest of the way en route to the 3-1 win.
