Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Tyra Clark Scores 24 but Regents Fall at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 61-52 on the road Saturday afternoon at Manchester University. Saturday's game was the definition of a defensive struggle, as neither team was able to get much of anything going on the offensive end of the court. Rockford did an outstanding job forcing the Spartans into taking difficult shots and held them to just 30.6% (15-49) shooting, including 13.0% (3-23) from three-point range, both of which were season-lows. Unfortunately, the Regents also struggled to find their rhythm, as they shot only 31.1% (19-61) from the field and 20.0% (4-20) from long distance. The game however ultimately came down to free throws, as it often does. The Spartans made 28 free throws compared to just 10 for the Regents, which proved to be enough for Manchester to escape with the 9-point win.
