FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Rockford University baseball team (2-1) fell behind and couldn't catch up to Muskingum University (2-2) in the Regents first and only game of the day down in Florida, losing 14-3. Muskingum built a 7-0 lead by the middle of the fifth inning and never looked back, going on to record 17 hits that led to 14 runs. Rockford put together eleven hits on offense but failed to get runners home, only able to score in the 5th inning.
- Rockford gave up a single to start the contest and the runner would later score on a groundout to give Muskingum a 1-0 lead after the top of the first.
- Rockford tried to respond in the bottom of the inning. Jared Herzog and Neil Freeman were on second and first, respectively, but the Regents couldn't bring them home.
- After a quiet second inning, Muskingum loaded the bases on the first three hitters to start the third. Rockford turned the double play on the next at-bat, but the Fighting Muskies were able to score a run to make it 2-0.
- Muskingum Spent the next inning and a half building the lead, hitting a home run and scoring 3 more runs in the third and another in the top of the fifth. The Fighting Muskies led 7-0.
- Rockford got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning. Neil Freeman came up with runners on first and third and singled to left field scoring Jake Bilotta.
- After a walk to load the bases, Jonathan Leon came up and singled up the middle to score two of the runners and make it a 7-3 game.
- The Regents struggled to score for the remainder of the game as Muskingum came up and scored seven more runs before the game concluded, securing the win 14-3.
