RIPON, Wis. - The Rockford University women's soccer team won its second game this week in a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over the Ripon College Red Hawks. Rockford found itself down 1-0 at the half, but outscored the Red Hawks 3-1 over the final 45 minutes, to secure the win.
Samara Tanchuck was once again the catalyst for the RU offense, scoring Rockford's first goal of the match and also tying the match at 2-2 in the 64th minute. However, it was
Autumn Huntington who delivered the game-winning goal in the 78th minute and sealed the victory.
- The Red Hawks scored the first goal of the match. Kina Hopkins found the back of the net in the 38th minute to break the scoreless tie and give Ripon a 1-0 lead.
- Both teams had chances to score over the final 7 minutes of the half, but came up empty, as the Red Hawks took a 1-0 advantage into the break.
- Rockford came out clicking on all cylinders offensively in the second half. Samara Tanchuck needed just 10:09 to find the back of the net and knot the match at 1-1.
- However, Ripon responded just over a minute later with a goal by Kaley Kowal to retake the lead.
- The Regents would not be outdone though, as Samara Tanchuck beat the Ripon keeper for the second time in match to tie it up with just under 27 minutes remaining.
- The score remained the same until the 78 minute when Autumn Huntington scored her first career game-winning goal and propelled her team to a 3-2 victory.

The RU women's soccer team returns to the field on Wednesday, September 14 at Alverno College to begin NACC play. The match has a scheduled start time of 4 PM.
