ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The Rockford University men's soccer team scored a trio of second-half goals to secure a 4-3 come from behind win on Tuesday evening at Crown College. Although Rockford was outshot 11-10 in the match, the Regents had more shots on target, 7-5, which fortunately translated into more goals.
Simeon Adesina led the Regents with a pair of goals, including what turned out to be the game-winner in the 68th minute.
- Crown College jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead less than 21 minutes into the match. AJ Anderson Sanchez and Joaquin Silva each found the back of the net early on to give Crown the lead.
- Rockford's Abraham Gonzalez continued his scoring spree as of late, with his fourth goal in the last seven days. Gonzalez put the ball into the lower right corner of the net in the 32nd minute, to make it a 2-1 game heading into the half.
- The Regents then took the lead with a pair of goals in the 57th minute of the match. Simeon Adesina knotted the match at 2-2 off an assist from Abraham Gonzalez. Then 36 seconds later, Matt Polovin scored an unassisted goal in the lower left corner of the net, which gave Rockford its first lead of the day.
- Simeon Adesina then added his second goal of the match in the 68th minute. Adesina received a pass from Matt Polovin and beat the Crown keeper in the lower right corner of the goal, to put the Regents out in front 4-2.
- Crown's Tim Jaeger was able to add a late goal in the 89th minute, but it was not enough, as Rockford picked up the 4-3 victory and moved to 2-1-3 on the season.
- Abraham Gonzalez finished with a goal and an assist. He is currently tied for fourth in the NACC in goals (4) and points (9).
- Simeon Adesina needed just 2 shots to score a pair of goals on Tuesday.
- Matt Polovin had a goal and an assist.
