FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Rockford University men's soccer team opened NACC play on Saturday with a 2-0 road loss to Marian University. The Sabres scored a goal midway through the first half and never really looked back. The Regents were outshot 26-6, including 7-0 in shots on goal. Marian would add one more goal in the closing minutes to seal the 2-0 victory.
- Marian's Guiliano Corazzina broke the scoreless tie with a shot that sailed inside the right post to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.
- Neither team was able to get much of anything else going the remainder of the half, as the game entered the intermission with Marian clinging to a 1-0 advantage.
- The second half was more of the same, with both schools continuing to play excellent defense.
- Unfortunately, the Sabres put the match away in the 89th minute when Israel Duran found the back of the net, to seal the 2-0 win.
