ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team fell to MSOE 4-0 in a NACC match on Saturday afternoon. The Regents had to stay on the defensive side with MSOE consistently holding possession of the ball and putting shots on net over the course of the match. Rockford was out-shot 31-1 by the end of the contest, but great work by
Elizabeth Elison and the Regents defense held the Raiders to 4 goals at the final whistle. Elison finished with another 15 saves, making it 30 saves in her last two games.
- From the start Rockford was playing defensive soccer. The Regents ran into problems trying to connect passes together over the course of the match and faced multiple turnovers in their own half.
- MSOE scored the opening goal in the 11th minute off a corner kick that was tapped in from the far post to make it a 1-0 game.
- The Raiders scored a second goal shortly after in the 14th minute off a shot that was out of reach of goalkeeper Elizabeth Elison to make it 2-0 MSOE.
- It only took 15 more minutes before MSOE scored again, this one from a cross into the box that was placed into the back of the net to make it 3-0.
- Coming back from the halftime break, the Raiders scored their fourth and final goal off a cross that was headed in by Faith Papazoglou to add to the lead, 4-0.
- MSOE controlled the ball for the rest of the game, running out the clock until the final whistle, winning the match by a final score of 4-0.
