LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team (1-1) dominated Blackburn College (1-1) for all 90 minutes, earning a 6-0 win on Monday afternoon. It was a quiet day for goalkeeper
Kaeleigh Taylor, as the Regents prevented the Beavers from ever taking a shot in the game. It was consistently on one half of the field for the game, resulting in 45 shots for Rockford, 19 of them on goal.
Rianna Tovar was a heavy contributor in the win, she finished with 2 goals and an assist, taking 7 shots and putting 4 on goal.
- Samara Tanchuck starting off the scoring for Rockford, hitting a deep shot from outside the box off the crossbar and in, making it 1-0 Regents.
- The Regents struck again in the 24th minute. Samara Tanchuck sent in a corner kick that Morgan Dolphin was able to head into the back of the net, making it 2-0.
- Mia Ostler scored the third goal in the 33rd minute, taking a perfect free kick into the upper right corner to make the score 3-0.
- Coming out after the half, Rockford continued to pressure the Blackburn net, capitalizing in the 56th minute. Rianna Tovar scored on the near side of the goal on a pass from Mia Ostler.
- Less than a minute later, Rockford scored once again. Autumn Huntington got her second goal of the season on a pass from Samara Tanchuck. The Regents now lead 5-0.
- One final goal came in the 65th minute when Joleen Alvarado got the ball to Rianna on the throw-in, which she then dribbled and shot past the goalkeeper, earning Tovar's second goal of the day.
- The Regents held possession the rest of the game, reaching 90 minutes and finalizing the shutout win.
