ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team couldn't recover after a slow start against the MSOE Raiders, losing 32-48. It was a relatively close game on the stat sheet, but it came down to who made a higher percentage of shots. The Raiders led in field goal, three-point, and free throw percentages by the end of the contest, helping them seal the deal and hand Rockford its fifth-straight conference loss.
- It was a disaster first quarter as Rockford didn't get a single basket to go in until Lexi Keating hit a three-pointer with 28 seconds left in the quarter. MSOE was able to score though, scoring 12 of its own on the way to a 12-3 lead after the first quarter.
- It was all MSOE again in the second quarter, except for an 8-0 run from 3:02-2:00 where Rockford didn't miss a shot. Lexi Keating and Julie Bailey each scored a three while Tyra Clark put in a layup to put the Regents within ten at 24-14. The Raiders hit a pair of free throws before the halftime horn and Rockford was down 12 at 26-14.
- Coming out of halftime it was looking good for the Regents, they controlled the third quarter of play. At one point, Rockford was on a 9-4 run thanks to five points from Tyra Clark, a basket from Audrina Terhune to start the quarter, and a pair of free throws from Katie Paredes.
- MSOE gathered two more free throws while Audrina Terhune hit one to bring the third quarter score to 32-24, an eight-point deficit.
- Unfortunately, the Regents ran into another quiet quarter in the fourth, with MSOE doubling their point total with a 16-8 run over the last ten minutes. Julie Bailey hit a three, Kyla Wilkerson and Tyra Clark each scored, and Katie Paredes made a free throw in what ultimately wasn't enough. The final horn sounded and the Raiders took the game with a final score of 48-32.
- Tyra Clark led the Regents in points with 9. She just missed out on a double-double as she also had 10 rebounds.
- Audrina Terhune had 9 rebounds to go with 5 points and a team-high 3 steals.
- Julie Bailey and Lexi Keating each shot 50 percent from the three-point line, each of them going 2-4 and finishing with 6 points.
