Regents Ground Eagles and Kevin Diemer Reaches a Career Milestone

LISLE, Ill. - Micah Swanson poured in a career-high 27 points and Kevin Diemer added 19 points to lead the Regents to a crucial 74-64 road win over the Benedictine University Eagles. Tuesday's game went back and forth throughout, as it featured six ties and 16 lead changes. Statistically the biggest difference between the two teams came at the free throw line. The Regents were +13 at the charity stripe, converting 20 free throw attempts, compared just 7 makes for the Eagles. Rockford also badly outrebounded Benedictine (48-34), which helped lead to extra possessions for the Regents. Rockford fans were also able to witness a bit of history in the game. The moment came with 5:39 left in the second half, when Kevin Diemer grabbed an offensive rebound and converted on a layup to score the 1,000th point as a Regent. The win moves Rockford back within striking distance of qualifying for the NACC Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years.
