LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team took the loss to the visiting Benedictine University Eagles 3-1 in a Wednesday afternoon NACC matchup. This match was actually somewhat close in overall stats with the Eagles leading in shots (20-13), and shots on goal (11-6), but the Regents led in saves (8-5) and corner kicks (5-3).
Jasmine Landberg was able to score the lone goal for the Regents in the 58th minute, but Rockford would fall to Benedictine 3-1.
- The Regents took the first shot of the match with a shot on goal by Silia Banza in just the 2nd minute but her attempt was saved.
- The Eagles got on the board first with a goal form Olivia McPherson in the 36th minute to put her team up 1-0 over the Regents.
- Jasmine Landberg tried to respond for the Regents, with a shot in the 44th minute but her shot was saved.
- Benedictine tacked on to their lead with another goal in the 56th minute to give them a 2-0 lead.
- Rockford was able to respond quickly with a goal by Jasmine Landberg in the 58th minute to cut the Benedictine lead in half, 2-1.
- The Regents had multiple opportunities to equalize the match with 5 separate breakaway shot attempts from Rianna Tovar, but the Regents were not able to cash in and kept the match 2-1.
- The Eagles were able to grow their led to 3-1 with a goal by Kailyn Knudson in the 82nd minute and they held on to win the match 3-1 over the Regents.
