BELOIT, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team notched its second straight road win on Saturday afternoon with a 59-51 victory at Beloit College. Rockford trailed for just 3:44 the entire game and stymied the Bucs' offense attack all afternoon. The Regents held Beloit to just 32.7% shooting from the floor and a measly 18.8% from three-point range. Offensively, Rockford again used a balanced attack and asserted its dominance on the glass. The Regents outrebounded the Bucs 46-29, including a 12-4 edge in offensive boards, and had 12 different players score at least one point.
- Beloit opened the game on a 7-3 run to take their largest lead of the day.
- The Bucs held the lead until Nia Wilkerson connected on a jumper with 1:41 left in the quarter, to put Rockford out in front 12-11.
- Emily Rich then hit a triple to close the first and another to open the second quarter, which extended the Regents' lead to 18-11.
- Rockford would push its advantage to as many as 14 in the period, following an 11-2 run. Five different Regents scored over that span, led by three points by Nia Wilkerson.
- However, Beloit scored the final seven points of the half, as Rockford took a 31-24 advantage into the break.
- After the Bucs got back to within five at the 7:50 mark, Rockford scored the next ten points to seize control of the game. Grace Vyborny scored four of those ten points and helped put the Regents out in front 43-28 with 4:31 left in the third quarter.
- However, Beloit was able to slowly trim the deficit back down to just seven points with 7:15 remaining in regulation.
- The score would remain the same until Audrina Terhune connected on one-of-two free throws at the 1:36 mark to extend Rockford's lead to 55-47.
- The Bucs were never able to get any closer than six the rest of the way, as Rockford held on for the 59-51 victory.
