OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team took a tough 60-24 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on day 1 of the UW-Winter Classic. The Regents had a tough day from the field, being held to just a 9-43 (20.9%) day and UW-Oshkosh racking up a 21-59 (35.6%) performance. Rockford was only able to connect twice on a 2-10 (20%) day from three-point range, while the Titans put up a 7-22 (31.8%) outing. Rockford was held to less than 10 points in each quarter and the Titans were able to force 36 Regents turnovers and turn those into 26 points, while the Regents forced just 16 and turned them into just 4 points. Rockford did outrebound UW-Oshkosh 39=36, with a 29-22 advantage on the defensive side. The Titans grabbed the lead midway through the first quarter and did not relinquish it back, finding their way to a 60-24 win.
- Rockford grabbed its one and only lead of the game in the first quarter after a three-pointer from Tyra Clark to give her team a 3-2 lead.
- The Titans then scored 10 straight points to end the quarter and take a 12-3 lead after one.
- The UW-Oshkosh run found its way to a 14-3 lead until it was halted after a jumper from Tyra Clark to cut the lead to 9 with 8 minutes left in the half.
- The Titans then went on a slight 8-5 run to take a 22-8 lead until D'Asia Washington would give her team double digits with a layup to make it 22-10.
- UW-Oshkosh scored the next 5 points to take a 27-10 lead going into the half.
- The Titans stayed in control with a 35-12 lead midway through the third quarter.
- The Regents got a three-pointer from Emily Rich to make it a 44-15 game with a minute left in the third quarter.
- Rockford was able to score the first 4 points of the fourth quarter with a layup from Grace Vyborny and Katie Paredes to make it a 47-19 game.
- UW-Oshkosh was able to go on a 13-5 run to close out the game and take a 60-24 win in day 1 of the UW-Oshkosh Winter Classic.
