OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team dropped its second game in as many days, following a 64-57 defeat at the hands of the University of Dubuque Spartans. Rockford played very well against a tough Dubuque team, including recording its best shooting performance of the season. The Regents shot season-highs from both the floor (43.5%) and from three-point range (50.0%) and knocked down a season-high 11 three-pointers. Unfortunately, Rockford was ultimately done in by turnovers and points off turnovers. The Regents turned the ball over 22 times, leading to 29 Dubuque points, compared to only 12 points off 16 Spartan turnovers for Rockford.
- The Spartans scored the first eight points of the game, as a part of a larger 11-2 run, to grab a 9-point lead with 4:16 remaining in the first quarter.
- Dubuque took a 14-9 lead heading into the second, but Rockford scored the first seven points of the period to take its first lead of the game. D'Asia Washington connected on layups on back to back possessions, and then Emily Rich drained a triple to give Rockford its first lead of the day at 16-14 with 7:25 left in the first half.
- The Regents would extend their lead to as many as three points off another Emily Rich three-pointer on Rockford's very next trip down the floor.
- However, Dubuque was able to retake the lead and push it to six, before Kyla Wilkerson hit a three of her own and pulled Rockford back to within three at 29-26 heading into the half.
- Rockford then proceeded to tie the game twice in the opening minutes of the third quarter, both times off made threes from Audrina Terhune.
- Unfortunately, Dubuque promptly went on a 9-0 run to tie their largest lead thus far at 41-32.
- The Spartans extended their lead to a game-high 17 points with only 3:06 remaining in the fourth quarter.
- The Regents did make things interesting with a 10-0 run of their own over the next 2 minutes and 34 seconds, to get back to within seven points with 32 seconds remaining. Rockford was 4-5 from the floor, led by five points from Audrina Terhune.
- Unfortunately, the Regents' comeback attempt fell short, as the Spartans went on to win by a final score of 64-57.
- Audrina Terhune finished with a game-high 16 points on 5-8 shooting, including 3-4 from three-point range. She also had 4 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.
- Emily Rich tallied 12 points on 4-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
- D'Asia Washington narrowly missed her second double-double of the season. Washington had 10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
