ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars 73-63 in a Wednesday night NACC game. The Regents came in having won the previous meeting between the two sides, but CUC shot 48 percent from the field and 46 percent from three in this game to help avoid the sweep. Despite CUC's shooting, Rockford was only down by three after the first half, but a 20-9 third quarter buried the Regents by 14 points and kept them from coming back in the fourth.
- Concordia Chicago jumped out to the early lead during the game, taking an 8-3 lead. Katie Paredes scored the first three points for the Regents.
- Rockford quickly picked up on offense after the first run, dominating the remainder of the quarter 18-8. Rockford knocked down four threes in as many attempts and led after one quarter 21-16.
- At the midway Point of the second quarter, Rockford managed to keep a four point lead after Julie Bailey traded back-to-back threes with the Cougars' Mikalah Ellis to put the score at 28-24.
- Julie Bailey hit another three after another Ellis basket, but it didn't stop a 14-6 Cougar run to end the first half, taking a 40-37 CUC lead into halftime. Katie Paredes hit a pair of free throws and a basket, while Kennedy Gaddis got the final basket before the break.
- The third quarter proved to be the deciding quarter between the two sides. Concordia Chicago kept its offense rolling while also preventing the Regents from reaching double-digits. Rockford only scored nine points and fell behind by 14 points at 60-46.
- The closest the Regents got to the Cougars the rest of the contest was seven points at the 1:30 mark, mainly on the back of Audrina Terhune with seven points in the quarter. Concordia Chicago held off Rockford as CUC's Mikalah Ellis scored the final three points to end the Regents' chances, taking the game by a final score of 73-63.
- Katie Paredes led the squad in points with 15 points. She also had team-highs in rebounds with 8, and steals with 4.
- Audrina Terhune finished with 13 points and a team-high 4 assists. She also added 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
- Julie Bailey added 12 points thanks to a team-high 3 three-pointers.
