CHICAGO, Ill. - The Rockford University baseball team traded wins with Illinois Tech in its Saturday doubleheader. The Regents routed Illinois Tech in game one, going down in the first, but running away with it by the end, winning 10-2. Illinois Tech returned the favor in game two, with pitcher Austin Richardson throwing a near perfect gem against the Regents, as the Scarlet Hawks knocked six home runs and went on to win 10-0 in seven innings.

Rockford 10 Illinois Tech 2
- The Scarlet Hawks scored to start game one on a defensive error that put the score at 1-0.
- Rockford was held from scoring until the fourth inning when a groundout managed to bring home Jake Bilotta from third base and tie the game 1-1. With a pair of runners on base, Jared Herzog stepped up right after and delivered a home run to give the Regents the lead 3-1.
- Jared Herzog started the game pitching for Rockford and delivered a solid outing on the mound. He gave up a single earned run and tallied 4 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.
- The Regents added to their total in the seventh inning, adding two more runs thanks to Jake Bilotta hitting a single to score Jonathan Leon and Scott Gowan. Joseph Stagowski stepped up right after Bilotta and smacked a home run to score two more runs and stretch the lead even further to 7-1.
- Illinois Tech needed to answer quickly in the bottom of the seventh. The Scarlet Hawks managed to hit a single to score one run, but still trailed 7-2.
- With the game in hand, Rockford still wasn't finished. TJ Cox sent a ball over the wall with a pair of runners on to grab three more runs to put the game well out of reach 10-2.
- Kent Evans Jr. had been pitching since the seventh and came back out one more time to slam the door on IIT and get the Regents the win 10-2.
Illinois Tech 10 Rockford 0
- The Scarlet Hawks homered to begin game one in the bottom of the first, taking a 1-0 lead.
- Illinois Tech added another run in the second on an RBI single. It was then followed up by a three-run blast to extend the lead and make it 5-0.
- The Regents secured their only hit of the game in the third inning when TJ Cox knocked a single with two outs.
- IIT hit its third homer of the game in the bottom of the inning to make it 6-0. A home run in the fourth inning made it 7-0 Scarlet Hawks.
- Illinois Tech hit two more home runs in the sixth to score the final three runs before the run rule took effect in the seventh.
- Rockford went down in order to end the game, securing the split 10-0.
