VERONA, Wis. - The Rockford University women's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road Wednesday night to the Edgewood College Eagles. Despite being outshot 18-1, including 11-0 on shots on goal, the Regents battled and kept the match within reach for much of the night. The match entered the half scoreless thanks in large part to solid defense and stellar goalkeeping by
Kaeleigh Taylor. However, the Eagles were finally able to wear the Regents down and scored goals in the 59th and 71st minutes to secure the 2-0 win.
- Despite being outshot 10-1 in the first half, Rockford was able to keep the game a scoreless tie entering the break. Regent keeper Kaeleigh Taylor was a wall inside the net, making 5 saves during the first 45 minutes.
- Taylor added 3 more saves to her total to begin the second half, before the Eagles were able to break the scoreless tie.
- Rylee Brotz scored her third goal of the season and the first of the match in the 59th minute to give Edgewood a 1-0 lead.
- Marley Satran then made it a 2-0 Eagle advantage in the 71st minute, with her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
- Unfortunately, the Regents were unable to cut into the Eagle lead over the remaining 19 minutes and fell by a final score of 2-0.
