MEQUON, WIS. - The Rockford University men's soccer team dropped a close game vs. Concordia Wisconsin 3-2. The Regents were actually leading this match for a majority of the way through, leading 1-0 after half and eventually 2-1. Unfortunately, Concordia Wisconsin was able to find the back of the net 3 times in the second half to take the match from the Regents 3-2. This marks the first loss for the Regents in NACC play, but still find themselves in second place in the NACC standings overall.
- The Regents tried to get an early start to the game with a shot on goal by Matt Polovin in just the 4th minute, but his chance was saved by the Falcon goalkeeper.
- The Falcons also had a few opportunities to get things going in the first half, with multiple shots, but none were able to find the frame of the net, keeping the score 0-0.
- Rockford was able to get another opportunity in the 25th minute on a shot by Francesco Stoner, but his shot was saved by the Falcon goalkeeper again.
- The Regents would finally break the scoreless tie with a goal in the 33rd minute by Raul Martinez, his 3rd of the season, assisted by Abraham Gonzalez, putting Rockford up 1-0.
- Neither team forced another shot in the first half and the score remained 1-0 going into the second half.
- Raul Martinez had a chance to give the Regents a 2-0 lead on a shot in the 51st minute, but unfortunately his attempt went wide.
- CUW would try to break through on a shot in the 54th minute, but the shot was saved by Andrik Vidaurri, keeping the match in favor of the Regents.
- The Falcons were able to tie the game up at 1-1 on a goal in the 68th minute to make the game interesting yet again.
- Rockford responded right away on a goal that came off of a corner kick by Francesco Stoner, scored by Baruani Kamangila, his 3rd of the season, making the score 2-1 in favor of the Regents.
- CUW was able to respond to the Regent goal with a goal of their own in the 76th minute to tie the game up again at 2-2.
- Each team traded shots until in the 85th minute the Falcons found the back of the net and all of a sudden led the game 3-2.
- Rockford would be held shot-less and scoreless for the remainder of the game, ultimately dropping the game to Concordia Wisconsin 3-2.
